This title is being published in honor of the 50th year anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Lao Front for National Development, the 116th birthday of the “Red Prince” President Souphanouvong, and the 70th year anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. This publication is a collection of stories and accounts that reflect the admirable revolutionary characteristics of the first President of the Lao PDR–President Souphanouvong.

“Uncle Soupha” is the first in a series about the first generation of Lao revolutionary leaders. Published in both English and Lao, in accordance to the directive issued by Former Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh, to make Lao revolutionary history more accessible to the younger generation, diaspora, and foreign friends.
